How to choose the right option

There are two types of laundry support on this page:

  • Free wash events: you bring your laundry to a laundromat during a set window. Drop-in, no appointment needed.
  • Free pickup and return: a volunteer picks up, washes, folds, and returns your laundry to you. Better if you have limited transportation.

If you're in Dakota County, start with Kaposia Laundry Aid (pickup) or First Presbyterian / Laundry Love (wash event).

What to expect

Tips for using laundry support services

Before you go or request

  • Sort and bag laundry by load before pickup or drop-in.
  • Confirm detergent is provided. Most programs supply it, but it's worth checking.
  • For pickup programs, expect a few days' lead time between your request and the pickup date.
  • Note any fragile or special-care items so volunteers know.

If a program's capacity is full, ask to be added to a waitlist or try another option on this page.
